Success Coaching Tip: How to track your success with Google
I stopped gambling with my business a long time ago. What do I mean by that? Simply that I no longer throw a marketing idea up and HOPE that it is getting me the results I want. I got tired of “throwing away” money by guessing and hoping that my next marketing idea would work. I learned that I had to test my strategies before actually choosing to spend time, money, resources and energy to grow them. But then, how could I keep track of these ideas and their results?
Well, along came Google and provided a free tool that I have just loved. It is called Google Analytics. If you are not familiar with it and you do any kind of marketing on the internet, then it is an absolute must. This tool automates the tracking of almost everything that goes on for a website.
It tracks
- Number of visitors
- How long they visit
- How many pages they visited
- Whaty type of connection is being used to connect to your site
- And much, much, much more.
I could literally go on for hours about all the tracking this tool does. Instead I suggest you taking a look at the following video.
If you have a bit of sense about marketing, then you understand how powerful this information can be. It can help you take away much of the guesswork from your marketing. All you need to do is create a Google Account, setup an analytics account, and enter a snippet of code into your website’s template, and that’s it.
As early as the very first day, you’ll start seeing detailed reports on the activity that is going on in your site. Once you look at this data, then make adjustments to your marketing and keep repeating the process of checking and adjusting until you get the results you want. It is truly that simple.
I encourage you to track your success and keep making the adjustments based on RESULTS, not guesswork. I trust this tool will suupport you in creating your next level of success.
