Your future well being depends solely on whether you can leave your past behind!
I have been asked what would be good recommendations for lowering high cholesterol levels. Eliminate any food that has the word fast or quick in it. Eliminate artificial foods. Eat foods high in fiber, particularly soluble fiber, like oats, fruit, beans, and some legumes. Add omega 3s to your diet, whether it be supplements or fish. Add lecithin to your supplements. Add garlic to your supplements and meals. Chew your food, and then, chew it some more. Don’t drink liquids at a meal.
My mind not only wanders, sometimes it leaves completely.
Scientists are thinking they may have at last found the cause of premature aging. DHEA or, dehydroepiandosterone, produced in the adrenals is the primary hormone of the body. It is frequently referred to as the mother steroid because it is the precursor to all steroid hormones and active metabolites. The body converts DHEA on demand into hormones needed such as estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, oxytocin, and cortisone. Although often called the anti-aging or anti-obesity hormone, additional evidence suggests DHEA has significant anti-tumor, anti-cancer effects. Research shows there is a relationship between decreased levels of DHEA and most degenerative diseases.
DHEA blood levels peak between ages 20 to 25 and then decline with age in both men and women. DHEA is also a precursor of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. DHEA is the precursor to insulin. Every time the body makes these hormones, DHEA levels are depleted. According to scientists the decline of DHEA in the body is the most reliable indicator of aging and susceptibility to disease. By the last year of life there is less than five percent of what was available at age 20. Most age researchers agree that to retard aging DHEA blood levels must be maintained at levels found in people in their 20’s.
So how do you maintain your levels of DHEA? Keep your blood sugar in balance. Oh yea, KEEP your blood sugar in balance! Keep your adrenals healthy! Stress is the hardest thing on adrenals, control it. I just read this article stating that the indicators of stress are eating too much, drinking too much, impulse buying and driving fast. What??? That’s my idea of a perfect day! But I digress …… on with health.
The fallacy of the AMA fix for blood sugar problems is ending. Insulin is not the answer. All blood sugar problems, including diabetes, are curable. Blood sugar problems can be caused from many assorted problems; usually it is bowel parasites, transfat diet, high omega 6 diet, high saturated fat diet, low omega 3 diet, adrenal exhaustion, and a mineral deficiency.
Parasites weaken the liver and pancreas with their toxins, not allowing either to function properly. Parasites also cause the craving for high glycemic foods, in turn weakening the liver and pancreas. Parasites, particularly candida overgrowth, cause a vicious cycle of downward spiraling health.
The pancreas relies on chromium to function normally; the Standard American Diet, or SAD, is notoriously deficient in this mineral. SAD, with its overload of high glycemic foods, uses what little is in the diet quickly. Our cells need vanadium for the process of cellular blood sugar absorption. This mineral is also deficient in SAD.
A low omega 3 diet causes the cells to become insulin desensitized, requiring more and more insulin to balance blood sugar. SAD is typically low in omega 3s. Lecithin is also needed to maintain the fat structure, and SAD is low in lecithin.
To begin with, helping any blood sugar problem, the parasites and candida over growth must be eliminated. The diet must be altered to eliminate high glycemic foods. This is not permanent, but must be controlled for life. This practice should be standard for any person thirty-five and older.
When blood sugar levels goes up or down, the brain is deprived of oxygen and this affects the ability to think properly, so you go out and vote. You may wake up in the morning tired or go to bed tired, irritable, impatient, with night urination, headaches, blurred vision, and dizziness. Your circulation slows, your hands and feet feel cold, and your legs “go to sleep,” particularly the quadriceps. High glycemic foods are the culprits involved with both high and low blood sugar problems. Our bodies are created with a mechanism to properly metabolize the natural carbohydrates such as most fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. High glycemic foods are absorbed so fast into the blood that the only way for the body to control it is release lipase. The lipase then elevates the amount of fat in the bloodstream. This fat, an omega 6, interferes with the function of natural insulin. Omega 3s DON’T. If you have a strong pancreas, it will create enough insulin to partially overpower the fat and keep the blood sugar within tolerable levels. That is providing that the liver is healthy enough to convert the sugar into fat as fast than the pancreas can tolerate it. Along with the liver and the pancreas, the kidneys excrete excess sugar from the blood until they are burned beyond proper function.
Ever hear about sugar addiction? It is the number one addiction in the world. It is important to stay away from high glycemic foods, particularly once you are middle aged. Middle age used to be 35, but is chronologically a younger age all the time. Our bodies need the proper kind of sugar. Sugar is fuel, sugar is glucose. Without glucose in our blood, we can go into a coma and die. Glucose provides energy. Glucose is so important that the body will make sugar from fats or protein. We need to avoid this, however, the byproducts of this process damage the body.
Low blood sugar symptoms such as sudden headaches, uneasiness, sweats, lightheadedness, disorientation, and sudden loss of energy are now a frequent occurrence. Many people have been told to cope with this problem by snacking on something sweet. The problem is that when they do this the same problem reoccurs a few hours later and they have to repeat the whole process again. People with low blood sugar have a hard time keeping their weight down. Pregnant women have a difficult time carrying a baby full term. In an extreme case of low blood sugar a coma can result and even death. Many automobile collisions and job related accidents are nothing more than low blood sugar with momentary blackouts happening.
OK, what do I do about it? Because this problem is so body encompassing, see a health practioner for a diet and supplement regime.
The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes.
