Free Business Cards – Do you have your business cards yet?

“Do you have some business cards?” When was the last time you heard this at some event and you didn’t have cards to give?  Did you lose out on a potential customer?  How about a potential referral?  How much business have you missed out by not having a business card with you?

Really, take a moment and reflect on the effect it has on your business and revenue when you are asked by an interested party for your business card and you don’t have one.  Be prepared, you never know when you’ll strike up a conversation with someone that needs what you have.  As you know I always encourage you to take action, to take the next step, because this is what gets results.  Thinking about having your business cards is only the first step, then getting them and distributing them is the next step.

In all reality there is no reason I can think of for anyone not to have business cards.  I mean, you can even get FREE business cards at Vista Print.  You don’t even have to buy your first set.  All you need to do is go online, follow some simple steps and have them delivered to you.  Then stick a bunch of them in your pocket, purse, or wallet, and you are ready to share them with others.

But how do I share my cards with others without seeming pushy?  Great question.  Remember, business is about relationships, not about exchanging business cards.  So keep that in mind.  First and foremost strike up a real conversation, get to know the other person, what are their desires, their needs, their wants, and see how you may be of service.  Maybe is something as simple as recommending them to someone else.  Maybe they have something that is of interest to you.  Or maybe you might even have a service or product that may help them out.  In any case, it creates a reason for continuing a conversation.  It is at this point that it may be appropriate to either ask for their card (usually prompting them to ask for yours in return), they may ask you for your card, or you may even find it appropriate to offer your card to them and ask them to send you more information on whatever you were talking about.

The point is connecting with others and allowing that connection to continue beyond the initial conversation.  This is where your business card comes into play.

So where are your business cards?  Do you have yours yet?  If not, then take a step, at least get the free business cards at Vista.

Much success to you!
